High Key portraits and a wonderful afternoon with Michelle. GOOD TIMES... and glitter... everywhere.

P.S. you know whats also awesome, is that I barely touched her skin at all, this is all pretty much pure photo, couldnt ask for more than that

For Vogue, I was asked to shoot the local James Brett stylists when they came in to do hair on the final show night. Nothing fancy just some promo shots for sponsorship packages.

These are the highlights, straight out of the camera and that dark, fluorescent-lit, hairspray-clogged room.

Current addiction: [FRAMED]

It's this new show or project or 'thing' that posts episodes highlighting photographers (so far only from the U.S) and their techniques, set ups, and general story.

-granted some of it like the children's portraiture and "mom's with cameras" section isn't quite the direction I think I'm going to be headed it looks like it could be a really valuable resource to explore

Dont be fooled by the twilight photo on the homepage, it's just a demo shot from a celebrity photographer I SWEAR.

How can you resist this colour?

A revisit of Jessa's shoot in January. I've really been feeling black and white lately which in all honesty is unfortunate, because I don't really have the hang of it yet haha. UH OH, A WEAKNESS. I guess I'll have to work on that.

These I find a little more human, with all the hair in her face. The last one has got to be my favourite. She's a goof, who knew?

-Mitch... I know, Im terrible, I apologize, we will have a photo shoot soon, I promisseeeeeeeee

5:30 PM. Jessa's room gets beautiful light in the late afternoons. Selfs are tricky, you have to take them eventually or else youre a hypocrite. I didnt want any glamour.

Ended up shooting this event at a bar called Zappas in 'downtown' Kingston a few weeks ago. Other than a little bit of cash I also did a bit of experimenting leading to a few shots not necessary usable for the client, but hey.. kept me a little more interested after being instructed to shoot as many "biddies" as possible. Oh man haha. (I shot the biddies but I liked the colours in these shots better)

Sneak peek at the 6 page editorial spread for the second issue of Muse Magazine. It was a classic play off of faculty stereotypes, these ones being the hipster indie artsci and the professional commerce student. Everything had to be in black and white due to printing costs, issue should launch first week of fall semester 2011.

- At least an hour and a half of editing per photo, did not have much to work with in the way of sets or lights

Is anybody out there?

ya so... apparently I am completely incompetent when it comes to updating regularly but in my defense things have been crazy. After I finish these last two essays and I successfully revive myself from near death I will be posting a hella annoying amount of Queen's Vogue photos... and I mean hella annoying. I took a little mental guesstimate of how many originals I have from this year just from Vogue and the total hits a whopping....

5,000

Then I thought, "Well geez, what better way to waste my time than actually count up all my originals", and because it turns out I am a PROcrastinator, I even got to drag out my hunker of an external hard drive. Duu duu du du DUHHH

moral of the story: Vogue has eaten my life. OH and it's a good thing I didn't pursue math.
